Electronic Arts officially announced EA Sports FC 27 on July 23, 2026, with a global launch scheduled for September 25 across multiple platforms, including the Nintendo Switch 2 and original Nintendo Switch.
The upcoming title features Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé on the standard and Ultimate Edition covers, while Jude Bellingham appears on the Ultimate Edition Plus.
Mentors such as Mbappé, Chloe Kelly, Paulo Dybala, and Alex Hunter will guide player development throughout the game.
New Open-World Social Playground
A primary addition to the franchise is an open-world social playground named The Grounds, which expands the existing Clubs experience.
The mode offers casual kickabouts and competitive matches set across three distinct districts inspired by football heritage.
Manager Career mode introduces a rebuilt transfer market powered by TransferRoom, adjusting player values dynamically based on club buying power, potential, ratings, and form.
Additionally, the Football Ultimate Team Gallery allows players to curate item sets to increase gallery levels and earn rewards.
Executive leadership highlighted the strategic direction of the new title during the announcement.

"Whether it’s gameplay shaped by community feedback, the all-new FUT Gallery, a rebuilt Transfer Market in Career, or creating and growing your footballer in The Grounds, our new social playground that expands the Clubs experience beyond the pitch, FC 27 is designed to deepen players’ connection to football and to one another."
The release is also marked by regulatory updates in European markets following earlier policy shifts by rating boards.
Under Pan-European Game Information standards established in March, games containing loot boxes or randomized item mechanics receive a PEGI 16 rating.
Battle passes carry a PEGI 12 classification, while NFT or blockchain elements trigger a PEGI 18 rating.
Because of these loot box regulations, EA Sports FC 27 bears a PEGI 16 age rating on its retail packaging.
Consequently, European retailers in jurisdictions like the United Kingdom must verify age credentials for physical sales, while digital storefronts such as the PlayStation Store will enforce access restrictions via parental controls.
