Dell Technologies stock fell 2.3 percent to $427.57 during trading on July 27, 2026, following a massive rally driven by surging demand for its artificial intelligence servers.

Shares traded between $411.87 and $437.50 as session volume reached nearly five million shares, according to MarketBeat.

Despite the single-day decline, the enterprise technology giant has seen its stock surge 242 percent in 2026.

The rapid growth stems from accelerating revenue in its AI server segment, which expanded 757 percent year-over-year in the first quarter of fiscal 2027 to reach $16.1 billion.

Market Outlook and Forecasts

Market research firm IDC projects global server market revenue will expand at an annual rate of 25 percent through 2030, with generative AI hardware generating $449 billion.

Fortune Business Insights estimates Dell holds a 17 percent share of the global AI server market.

To capture further market share, Dell boosted its fiscal 2027 AI server revenue forecast to $60 billion, up from its prior estimate of $50 billion.

This projection follows $24.7 billion generated in AI server sales during fiscal 2026.

The expansion in high-performance computing is supported by key institutional contracts, including a recent deal with Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station.

Under the state-funded project, Dell will build IGNITE, a large shared high-performance computing and AI infrastructure platform, as reported by Simply Wall St.

Financial reports indicate Dell generated $43.84 billion in first-quarter revenue, representing an 87.5 percent year-over-year increase.

Quarterly net earnings per share reached $4.86, outpacing Wall Street consensus estimates of $2.96 per share.

Wall Street equity analysts maintain a consensus Moderate Buy rating on the stock with an average price target of $494.67.

Citigroup recently raised its target price to $515, while Wells Fargo and HSBC elevated their ratings to Overweight and Buy earlier in the quarter.

In regulatory disclosures filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, company insiders sold more than $1.4 billion worth of shares over the past 90 days.

Directors associated with Silver Lake Partners completed two separate transactions on July 9, liquidating over 103,000 shares worth a combined $46.9 million.

Dell maintains a market capitalization of $277.11 billion and is scheduled to pay a quarterly dividend of $0.63 per share to shareholders of record as of July 21, 2026.
