The Milwaukee Brewers closed the 2026 regular season with a franchise-record 103-59 mark, securing the top seed and home-field advantage throughout the Major League Baseball postseason.
The bracket was officially finalized on September 27, 2026.
Milwaukee's win total surpassed its previous franchise record by six games, making the club the first 100-win team in MLB since 2023.
The Los Angeles Dodgers reached the same milestone, finishing 100-62 after a win on the final day of the regular season.
Wild-Card Matchups Set in Both Leagues
The Brewers earned a direct bye into the National League Division Series, which begins Saturday, October 3.
They will await the winner of the best-of-three wild-card series between the fifth-seeded Chicago Cubs (89-73) and fourth-seeded San Diego Padres (91-71), starting Tuesday, September 29 in San Diego.
The matchup is a rematch from last year, when the Cubs beat the Padres at Wrigley Field before falling 3-1 to Milwaukee in the NLDS.
During the 2026 regular season, Milwaukee went 9-4 against Chicago and 2-4 against San Diego.
In the other National League wild-card series, the third-seeded Atlanta Braves (94-68) will host the sixth-seeded Philadelphia Phillies (88-74), with the winner advancing to face the second-seeded Dodgers.
In the American League, the top-seeded Tampa Bay Rays (98-64) await the winner between the fourth-seeded New York Yankees (93-68) and fifth-seeded Boston Red Sox (87-75).
The second-seeded Cleveland Guardians (85-77) will play the winner of the sixth-seeded Chicago White Sox (84-78) and third-seeded Houston Astros (81-81).
Unlike the NFL, Major League Baseball keeps a fixed bracket without re-seeding between rounds.
Under this format, the division-winning Guardians face a potential matchup against wild-card opponents with lower win totals than the teams facing top-seeded Tampa Bay.
The wild-card series will conclude by October 1.
Milwaukee then hosts Games 1 and 2 of the NLDS on October 3 and 4, with a potential Game 5 on October 9.
The National League Championship Series opens October 11, followed by the World Series on October 23.
