The Denver Broncos erased a 16-point halftime deficit to defeat the Los Angeles Rams 30-26 on Sunday Night Football at Empower Field at Mile High.
Los Angeles controlled the early stages, building a 13-0 halftime lead behind quarterback Matthew Stafford before extending the advantage to 16-0 in the third quarter.
The Rams racked up 274 offensive yards in the opening half while limiting Denver to just 67 yards and five first downs.
Denver's Third-Quarter Surge
Denver answered with 16 unanswered points in the third period, using two touchdown passes from Bo Nix to Pat Bryant and Nate Adkins alongside a pair of successful two-point conversions to level the score at 16-16.
Stafford briefly reclaimed the lead for Los Angeles with a 48-yard touchdown pass to Konata Mumpfield with 3:38 remaining in the fourth quarter.
However, a 66-yard interception return for a touchdown by Broncos safety Talanoa Hufanga previously pushed Denver ahead 23-19.
Nix secured the winning score for Denver with a 1-yard touchdown leap with under a minute remaining, following key Rams penalties and a 39-yard reception by Bryant.
Hufanga sealed the victory on the final play by intercepting Stafford in the end zone.
Nix completed 17 of 34 passes for 186 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception for Denver, while Stafford finished 30 of 55 for 390 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions for Los Angeles.
Denver moves to 2-1 on the season ahead of a road matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, while the 1-2 Rams travel to face the Philadelphia Eagles.
