Jamaica's national football team is dealing with a severely depleted squad ahead of its Concacaf Nations League Group B match against El Salvador at the Estadio Cuscatlan in San Salvador.
Interim head coach Rudolph Speid has lost seven players: Kasey Palmer, Isaac Hayden, Rumarn Burrell, Renaldo Cephas, Tayvon Gray, Andre Brooks, and Leon Bailey.
To fill the gaps, Jamaica called up three local Jamaica Premier League players: Kyle Ming, Ramone Howell, and Tajay Grant.
Jamaica sits second in Group B with six points from three matches, while El Salvador is sixth with three points.
The Reggae Boyz enter the match after a 1-0 loss to Honduras, which followed a 3-2 win over Guatemala.
Speid Points to Fatigue and Rotation
Speid said player fatigue has contributed to the team's recent decline in performance.
"We have a big squad, so it is possible that we might have to allow other players who have more energy to play," Speid said.
"We'll have to be rotating the squad. So it's something we're going to look at."
With forwards Burrell and Cephas absent, the coaching staff made targeted tactical adjustments in recent training sessions.
"We have worked with our forwards on movement to address scoring challenges," Speid said.
"Maintaining that offensive threat with our available players is vital."
Team management remains confident in the squad's depth, citing newcomer Miguel Freckleton's strong defensive debut against Honduras.
"Our recent win was a positive step," Speid said. "Injuries challenge our lineup, but we aim to keep competing strongly."
El Salvador enters the match after a 3-1 win over Martinique but is also missing injured players Harold Daniel Osorio Moreno and Mauricio Cerritos.
