Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson exited the Oct. 4 game against the Tennessee Titans at M&T Bank Stadium with an ankle injury.
His return was listed as questionable, and backup Tyler Huntley took over in the third quarter.
Baltimore held a 24-7 lead when Huntley entered the contest.
Jackson was sacked on the play immediately before the Ravens' field goal at the end of the second quarter.
Team officials did not specify the exact moment the injury occurred.
Back Issue Preceded Ankle Injury
The two-time MVP had been on the injury report earlier in the week because of a back issue.
He practiced on a limited basis Wednesday before being upgraded to full participation Thursday alongside wide receiver Zay Flowers.
Head Coach Jesse Minter downplayed concerns about his star signal-caller's back condition during mid-week media sessions.
"Dealing with something small," Minter said.
Minter also joked about the initial public reaction to the quarterback's presence on the injury report after Wednesday's session.
"I had heard that maybe that was sheer pandemonium that he was not out there earlier, but he ended up being able to get some stuff done," Minter said.
Before Sunday's injury exit, Baltimore faced additional roster strain along the offensive line.
Center Jovaughn Gwyn suffered a fractured fibula in Week 3 that is expected to require surgery and cause an absence of two to three months.
