Mexico will be without Hirving Lozano for their exhibition match against the United States in Glendale, Arizona, on Saturday, October 3, 2026.

The forward was ruled out after suffering a hamstring injury during Friday's practice session.

Medical examinations conducted on Saturday confirmed a myotendinous injury to Lozano's left biceps femoris, according to the Mexican Football Federation's Sports Directorate.

The injury forces the player to leave the national team camp and return to his club, Los Angeles Galaxy, for recovery.

"The Sports Directorate of the Mexican National Football Team reports that, during yesterday's training session, player Hirving Lozano felt discomfort in the distal third of his left hamstrings," the Mexican National Team said in an official release.

"Today (Saturday) an MRI was performed, which confirmed a myotendinous injury of the left biceps femoris."

The statement added that Lozano would miss the match to focus on his rehabilitation back in Los Angeles.

"For this reason, the soccer player is ruled out for tonight's match against the United States, and tomorrow he will leave the camp to continue his recovery process at his Club," stated the Mexican Football Federation's Sports Directorate.

Mexico Adjusts Attack Ahead of State Farm Stadium Fixture

Head coach Rafael Marquez was forced to adjust his attacking options ahead of the match at State Farm Stadium.

Hugo Camberos and Orbelin Pineda were positioned as the primary candidates to fill the vacant spot on the flank.

While Lozano remains unavailable, midfielder Gilberto Mora was cleared to participate in the international fixture after completing routine medical evaluations.

"Routine tests were performed on him due to some minor discomfort, but he is eligible for the match," said Rafael Marquez, Head Coach of the Mexican National Team.

The fixture marks the first meeting between the rival North American squads in over a year.

U. S.

manager Mauricio Pochettino is seeking his first victory against Mexico in this international window.
