The Los Angeles Dodgers have set their 26-man roster for the National League Division Series against the Atlanta Braves.
The team will carry 14 position players and 12 pitchers, a configuration that adds an extra bench spot for infielder Hyeseong Kim.
Kim is expected to serve as a pinch-runner and late-game defensive replacement.
Top prospect Josue De Paula and right-handed reliever Edgardo Henriquez both made the playoff squad.
Left-handed relievers Jack Dreyer and Justin Wrobleski were left off the postseason roster.
De Paula Earns Bench Role
De Paula, ranked as the No. 4 overall prospect by MLB Pipeline, will be the main left-handed option off the bench.
During an 11-game major league stint last month while filling in for injured designated hitter Shohei Ohtani, the rookie batted .
323 with 10 hits in 31 at-bats, five extra-base hits, and a . 500 on-base percentage.
President of baseball operations Andrew Friedman praised De Paula's composure in high-stakes situations.
"Obviously, we think incredibly highly of him," Friedman said.
"And to see the calmness in his at-bats … the impact -- just felt like as a bullet off the bench in big situations, just being able to trust the pulse and the ability," Friedman added.
Henriquez returns to active status after finishing the regular season on the injured list with a lower back strain suffered in mid-September.
The right-hander posted a 2.85 ERA in 61 relief appearances this season.
He cleared physical protocols during team workouts in the bye week to secure his spot in a bullpen featuring five right-handers and three left-handers.
