Department of the Treasury announced the completion of automatic enrollment for Trump Accounts on Oct. 5, 2026.

The program creates tax-advantaged investment accounts for millions of American children under age 18.

Children born between Jan. 1, 2025, and Dec.

31, 2028, qualify for a $1,000 seed deposit funded by the federal government.

More than 60 million eligible children now have accounts ready to be claimed by parents or legal guardians.

Claiming the Account

Parents must actively claim the account through the official Trump Accounts application available on iOS and Android platforms.

The process requires identity verification, relationship validation, and acceptance of account terms.

Once claimed, family members, friends, or employers can contribute funds to the account.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent highlighted the scale of the program during the announcement.

"This is a transformative milestone in the Trump Administration’s effort to give every American child the opportunity to build generational wealth and jump-start their financial future," Bessent said.
