Dominik Mysterio has earned a future AAA Mega Championship match after teaming with Omos to defeat Rey Mysterio and titleholder El Grande Americano on October 3, 2026.
The tag team bout aired during a Lucha Libre AAA broadcast on FOX.
The match was set up after AAA official Dorian Roldan disputed Rey Mysterio's unsanctioned involvement as referee in El Grande Americano's recent championship win over Dominik.
Roldan threatened legal action unless the title decision was reversed or resolved through a formal match stipulation.
Under the agreed terms, Dominik's victory earned him a championship shot at the upcoming Heroes Inmortales event.
Had El Grande Americano's team won, Dominik would have been permanently barred from challenging for the Mega Championship again.
The match turned in favor of the villains after Rey Mysterio delivered a seated senton to put Omos through the announce table.
Capitalizing on the chaos, Dominik removed Rey's mask while Roldan distracted the referee, allowing Dominik to strike El Grande Americano with the championship belt for the decisive pinfall.
In another match on the card, the AAA Latin American Championship bout between champion La Parka and Mr. Iguana ended in a no-contest.
Los Perros del Mal invaded the ring to attack both competitors, prompting a save from Nino Hamburguesa and setting up a Trios Championship match for Heroes Inmortales.
Separately, veteran wrestler Paul Wight addressed a recent Triplemania 34 angle where Omos slammed Rey Mysterio through a table while strapped to a spine board.
The maneuver mirrored a famous spot Wight performed against Mysterio earlier in his career.
"I already saw it when they tried to copy it. They had somebody else do my (spot)...
So I was like, 'Ehh,' you know? What is it?
Imitation is the best form of flattery or whatever," said Paul Wight, Former Professional Wrestler.
The Heroes Inmortales event will feature both Dominik Mysterio's Mega Championship challenge against El Grande Americano and the scheduled trios title defense involving Los Perros del Mal.
