Warren Buffett moved up to 10th place on the Forbes Real-Time Billionaires list on October 1, 2026.

His estimated net worth reached $142 billion after Berkshire Hathaway stock edged higher, according to Forbes.

The gain added nearly half a billion dollars to his fortune from the previous close.

Buffett now sits directly behind Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer, whose estimated net worth was nearly $160 billion.

Ortega Slips to 11th

Inditex founder Amancio Ortega dropped to 11th place after his wealth fell $1.8 billion to $140.1 billion.

The decline followed a 1.6 percent fall in Inditex shares.

Berkshire Hathaway also acquired 660,410 shares of homebuilder Lennar at an average price of $81.59 per share, raising its stake to 26 percent, according to Benzinga.

Buffett stepped down as CEO in December 2025 and left his chairman position in September, but remains chairman emeritus on the board of directors.

The company holds major positions in Apple, American Express, Coca-Cola, Google, and Bank of America, with an overall market value well over $1 trillion.

Outside his corporate portfolio, Buffett spends his evenings watching YouTube videos from a recliner at his Omaha residence, as reported by Livemint.

His viewing interests range from 1950s commercials and Glenn Close clips to Paul Anka performances, speeches by unknown figures, and Berkshire Hathaway's own corporate content.
