Italy has officially locked in a top seed position for the EURO 2028 qualifying draw, while holding second place in their UEFA Nations League group.
The confirmation follows a strong run in the latest phase of matches, which ended on October 5, 2026.
After an opening 2-0 home loss to Belgium, Italy responded with two wins over Turkey and a 1-1 away draw against France.
Those results leave Italy second in Group A on seven points, three behind leaders France and one ahead of third-placed Belgium.
Pot 1 Confirmed Ahead of Belfast Draw
The mathematical confirmation guarantees Italy a place among the eight Pot 1 teams for the EURO 2028 qualifying draw.
The draw is scheduled for December 6 in Belfast.
Head coach Roberto Mancini reached the seeding target before the final group stage fixtures.
Italy will close out their Nations League group schedule with a home match against France at San Siro on November 12.
They then travel to Brussels to face Belgium on November 15.
A win against Belgium would secure second place and a quarter-final spot regardless of the France result.
Under the tournament format, the top two teams from each group advance directly to the Nations League quarter-finals.
Lower-ranked teams face play-offs or potential relegation.
