Millions of Social Security recipients are receiving their October benefits as the Social Security Administration follows its monthly payment calendar.
Payments are generally sent on Wednesdays, with the exact date tied to a recipient's birth date.
Beneficiaries born between the 1st and 10th of any month receive their payments on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
Those born from the 11th through the 20th are scheduled for the third Wednesday, while recipients born after the 20th get payments on the fourth Wednesday.
SSI Payment Moves to October 30
Supplemental Security Income recipients will receive their November 2026 payment on Friday, Oct. 30, because Nov.
1 falls on a Sunday.
SSI payments are normally issued on the first day of each month or the previous business day when that date is not a business day.
SSI benefits can reach up to $994 for individual filers, $1,491 for couples filing jointly, and $498 for people providing essential care to SSI recipients.
The amounts vary based on individual circumstances.
Recipients must meet eligibility requirements that include U. S.
citizenship or qualifying noncitizen status and residence in one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, or the Northern Mariana Islands.
People who began receiving Social Security benefits before May 1997 generally receive payments on the third day of each month, unless that date falls on a weekend or holiday.
Those receiving both Social Security and SSI typically get Social Security payments on the third day of the month and SSI payments on the first day.
The remaining 2026 SSI schedule includes payments on Friday, Oct. 30, for November benefits, Tuesday, Dec.
1, for December benefits, and Friday, Dec. 31, for January 2027 benefits.
