Sanju Samson became the sixth Indian player to hit 100 sixes in T20 Internationals during the fourth T20I against West Indies at Uppal Stadium in Hyderabad on October 14, 2026.

Samson reached the milestone while India chased a target of 248, scoring 56 off 22 balls with six fours and four sixes at a strike rate of 243.48.

His four sixes lifted his career tally to 102 in the format, joining Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Abhishek Sharma, Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli among Indians with at least 100 T20I sixes.

Rohit leads the group with 205 sixes, followed by Suryakumar with 179, Abhishek with 141, Hardik with 126 and Kohli with 124.

At the end of the powerplay, India had reached 80 for 2, with captain Shreyas Iyer and Abhishek Sharma at the crease.

West Indies Set 247 for 3

West Indies captain Shai Hope anchored his side's innings with an unbeaten 102 off 50 deliveries, hitting four fours and nine sixes.

It was Hope's fourth century of the tour, according to The News Mill.

Samson's latest innings followed a difficult outing in the third T20I against West Indies in Indore, where he managed only three runs from six deliveries after scoring 82 in the preceding match.

India nevertheless posted 223 for 2 in the third match, powered by Abhishek Sharma's 69 off 30 balls, and won by 14 runs to take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.

Former India batter Cheteshwar Pujara discussed Samson's struggles in the third match and explained the circumstances surrounding his dismissal, while also praising Ishan Kishan's role.

Across 76 T20Is and 68 innings, Samson had accumulated 1,719 runs at an average of 27.28 and a strike rate of 158.87, including three centuries and 10 fifties.
