The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office has determined that AEW wrestler PAC died from bronchial asthma, ruling the death natural.
PAC, whose real name was Benjamin Satterley, died on September 27 at the age of 40.
The finding was reported by TMZ on October 16, following a review of the circumstances surrounding his passing.
The medical examiner's announcement clarified the medical cause of death, which had not been publicly disclosed in earlier coverage.
Final Match and Community Tributes
PAC's death came one day after he competed at AEW's All Out event in Chicago on September 26.
He faced Andrade El Idolo in a match for the AEW National Championship and lost the contest.
He then became involved in the AEW World Championship match between Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay, according to TMZ.
The wrestler's death prompted tributes throughout the professional wrestling community.
AEW dedicated its September 30 episode of Dynamite to his memory, featuring multiple matches honoring his career and a public statement from his parents, according to Sports Illustrated's October 12 report.
PAC's wife, Natalie, shared a public tribute on Instagram on October 12, describing their relationship and the future they had planned together.
Her message marked her first public statement following his death.
In her tribute, Natalie recalled their long relationship and the life they had built together.
"Thank you for our beautiful life darling.
Twenty one years ago we became friends, nineteen years ago we fell in love, and eleven years ago we were married.
Two souls entwined in one; my best friend and better half," she wrote.
"You always worked so incredibly hard to ensure we would have a great life together, both now and once you had retired.
The cruelty of having all of our future hopes and dreams snatched away will never feel real."
Her post included photographs of the couple taken during their travels, along with memories and plans they had hoped to fulfill.
She also described the family's determination to support one another as they coped with the loss.
"We will try our hardest to get through this nightmare and look after each other as I know that's what you would want, but we will miss you every minute, of every hour, of every day.
Love you eternally pet," Natalie wrote.
PAC established himself as a prominent international wrestling performer through his high-flying style and championship achievements.
He previously held WWE's Cruiserweight Championship and became an AEW World Trios Champion as a member of Death Triangle.
He also made history as the inaugural AEW All-Atlantic Champion, a title subsequently renamed the AEW International Championship.
His final appearance at All Out came after years of competing at major wrestling events across multiple promotions.
