Tyler Perry has purchased a luxury mansion in Puerto Rico for more than $30 million, according to The San Juan Daily Star.

The deal marks a new step in his plans to spend more time with family while easing his professional workload.

Perry is preparing to relocate to the island in early 2027.

What the Puerto Rico property includes

The recently completed transaction covers a 14,475-square-foot residence on nearly 1.4 acres inside a gated community.

Built in 2021, the home has five bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, along with a movie theater, an open-concept kitchen, a swimming pool and a gym.

The purchase follows Perry's September appearance on NBC's Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, where he discussed moving to Puerto Rico and scaling back his commitments.

He cited spending more time with his 11-year-old son, Aman, as a key reason for the change.

"Moving to Puerto Rico at the top of the year, and I'm pulling back a whole lot," Perry said during the interview.

"It's time to slow down a bit, enjoy more time with my son and just take it all in."

Despite the reduced workload, Perry is not expected to withdraw completely from the entertainment business.

The San Juan Daily Star reported that he plans to keep working from Puerto Rico, potentially setting up a production office and filming projects on the island.

The acquisition adds to Perry's extensive real estate holdings.

Last month, he listed his Beverly Hills estate for $57 million.

That property includes nine bedrooms and 15 bathrooms across 22.5 gated acres, with expansive views of the surrounding canyons.

According to The San Juan Daily Star, Perry bought the Beverly Hills estate for $4.3 million in 2004 and completed construction in 2012.

The property drew public attention after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly stayed there temporarily in 2020 while transitioning away from their roles as senior members of the British royal family.

Perry also owns a home in Atlanta near Tyler Perry Studios, a 330-acre production complex developed on a former military base.

His other properties include a private island in the Bahamas and a residence in Jackson, Wyoming, which was listed for sale earlier this year.

The Puerto Rico purchase comes as Perry prepares for a potential shift in both his personal life and professional operations.

His stated relocation plans point to the island becoming his family residence while he continues developing film and television projects.
