England national team manager Thomas Tuchel has named Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Jason Steele to a specialized training role for the upcoming World Cup in the United States.
The 35-year-old will travel with the squad to support the three primary tournament goalkeepers: Dean Henderson, Jordan Pickford, and James Trafford.

Steele previously served in this exact capacity during recent international friendlies against Uruguay and Japan at Wembley Stadium.
He secured his travel spot ahead of Brighton teammates Danny Welbeck and Jack Hinshelwood, who were not included in the final selection.
Tuchel Explains Decision
Speaking at a press conference, Tuchel said: "We chose three goalkeepers plus Jason Steele."
He added: "I want to take the opportunity to thank Jason for being brilliant and thank Brighton for being so co-operative and supportive."

The manager also addressed broader squad criticism, stating: "Teams win championships, it is as simple as that."
Tuchel defended his selection strategy by emphasizing collective unity over individual talent.
"I think from day one we were very clear that we are trying to select and build the best possible team, which is not necessarily to select and collect the 26 most talented players," he said.
"What we are trying to achieve in the summer can only be achieved as a team," he concluded.

Steele has played under several Brighton managers, including Chris Hughton, Graham Potter, Roberto De Zerbi, and Fabian Hurzeler.
