United States Men's National Team head coach Mauricio Pochettino has selected midfielder Gio Reyna for the upcoming 26-man FIFA World Cup 2026 roster, according to multiple sources.

The official announcement is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, May 26, 2026, in New York City, though Pochettino is not bound to that date before the final June 1 deadline set by FIFA.

Reyna, 23, earned his spot despite limited playing time this season.

He logged only 509 Bundesliga minutes for Borussia Mönchengladbach, scoring one goal in his final five league appearances.

The midfielder has recorded nine goals in 36 international caps, including a goal against the upcoming opening World Cup opponent, Paraguay.

“I’m just hoping and waiting for the call-up, it would be an honor,” said Reyna, expressing his deep connection to the national program.

“The national team means a lot to me. … I’d love to be there, have an impact on the team.

According to sources briefed on the decisions, the final roster also features winger Brenden Aaronson, center back Mark McKenzie, goalkeeper Matt Turner, and midfielder Sebastian Berhalter.

Aaronson completed a Premier League campaign with Leeds United, recording four goals and five assists across 36 matches.

Turner excelled on loan with the New England Revolution, leading MLS goalkeepers in goals minus expected goals.

In contrast, the 22-year-old Luna was excluded despite recovering from a muscle injury and recording four goals and three assists in 608 minutes for Real Salt Lake this season.
