Club America finished the game with 14 total shots and seven on target, while Washington recorded 14 total shots with five on target.
"Obviously, the result stings a little bit, but incredible effort from the team, to be two goals down and come back and tie it up," said the Spirit's Kate Wiesner.
Wiesner noted that the squad displayed the necessary fight and will look to apply the competitive experience moving forward.
"I think we showed a lot of resilience today, which is what we want to be part of our DNA as the Spirit.

And so proud of the fight that we put up, obviously came up short, but a lot of lessons learned and a lot of things we can take back and hopefully improve on," said Wiesner.
