Game developer Pocketpair has officially launched the full 1.0 version of Palworld on Friday, July 10, concluding a two-and-a-half-year early access period.

The massive update introduces overhauled gameplay mechanics, a floating biome, and a strict requirement for players to manually delete old mod data to prevent system crashes.

Mod Warning and Technical Requirements

According to Pocketpair, the 1.0 update implements major system overhauls that conflict with older modifications.

The studio reported that the game's price will not increase for the full release, but warned that simply disabling existing mods will not prevent technical issues.

"We look forward to seeing all the amazing mods that will be made after 1.0," said Pocketpair in an official statement regarding community creations.

The developer emphasized that outdated modifications left in game directories since 2024 could severely disrupt the updated software framework.

"The upcoming 1.0 update for Palworld makes significant changes to the game's systems," explained Pocketpair.

"If you still have mods installed from the past, especially mods that have been left installed since around 2024, you may encounter problems such as crashes when launching or playing the game, corrupted save data or save data failing to load, [or] quests or events becoming impossible to progress."

To avoid these disruptions, the studio instructed players to back up save data, delete specific binary and pack directories, and verify files on Steam.
