Teichmann vs Muchova: French Open Third Round Preview

Swiss left-hander Jil Teichmann will take on world No. 10 Karolina Muchova in the third round of the 2026 French Open women's singles on Friday, May 29.

Teichmann, currently ranked 170th, advanced after eliminating seeded opponents Ludmilla Samsonova and Magdalena Frech in straight sets. She entered the draw using a protected ranking.

During her run in Paris, Teichmann converted 10 of 18 break points, a 56 percent success rate, according to TennisTemple statistics.

Muchova, the 2023 tournament finalist from the Czech Republic, reached the third round with consecutive straight-set wins, including a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Kamilla Rakhimova.

Head-to-Head and Predictions

This will be the second clay-court meeting between the two. In 2019, Teichmann defeated Muchova in Prague in three sets: 7-6, 3-6, 6-4.

Their only other encounter was on hard court at the 2023 Miami Open, where Muchova won 6-0, 6-2 in 58 minutes.
