The outing lowered his season ERA to 2.52, ranking him 10th among National League starting pitchers.
The 27-year-old has posted a 1.76 ERA across 30 2/3 innings in five May starts.
He remains the only Major League player with at least eight starts who has not recorded a loss this season.
“It’s been good,” Meyer said. “They make it easy on me, calling pitches, and defense has been really good behind me.
Obviously, the hitters give me runs every game. It’s been very nice.”
An analysis by Pitcher List indicates that Meyer has expanded his pitching arsenal beyond his traditional four-seam fastball and slider combination.
He has successfully incorporated a sweeper, a sinker, and a changeup during the 2026 campaign.
“I think he’s just able now to stay within himself a whole lot more, and trust that just making a good throw with whatever pitch it is is the ticket,” said manager Clayton McCullough.

“I think you just see less of the bad misfires.”
Marlins front office officials noted that the former third overall pick in the 2020 MLB Draft has overcome multiple career setbacks, including Tommy John surgery in 2022 and a left hip labral repair procedure in 2025.
