Rey Fenix captured the AAA Cruiserweight Championship by defeating Laredo Kid at AAA Noche de Los Grandes in Monterrey, Mexico, on Saturday, May 30, 2026.
The title change occurred during the first installment of the two-part weekly event series at Arena Monterrey.

Fenix capitalized on a late-match mistake by the former champion.
Laredo Kid crashed into an exposed steel turnbuckle, allowing Fenix to hit his signature Muscle Buster for the pinfall victory.
The match began with Fenix rushing Laredo Kid with an unsuccessful dropkick attempt.
Laredo Kid retaliated with a Michinoku Driver and applied a Texas Cloverleaf submission hold, but Fenix broke the hold by reaching the bottom rope.
Laredo Kid removed the top turnbuckle pad to create an exposed corner.
He executed a Destroyer DDT and delivered a low blow, followed by a top-rope splash for a near-fall.

However, his own trap backfired when Fenix sidestepped an oncoming charge.
Other Title Changes at the Event
El Hijo del Vikingo won the AAA Latin American Championship by defeating El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. The match featured outside interference, including an appearance by Omos, who assisted Vikingo on the entrance ramp.
Dorian Roldan distracted the referee to aid Vikingo. Galeno then ran down the ramp and attacked Omos with a steel chair.
The chaos allowed Mini Vikingo to deliver a missile dropkick, setting up Vikingo to hit his finishing 450 Splash for the pinfall win.
