Alana Valuk later grounded into a fielder's choice to score Gabriella Ricci, making it 3-0.
Chariho extended its lead with four more runs in the second inning.

To secure their first softball championship, the Chargers must defeat La Salle twice in the upcoming series.
Chariho pitcher and batter Adriana Jeannenot discussed the team's mindset heading into the championship round. "It's the same feeling," she said.
"Just trying to go in there confident, and as a team, really just trying to gel and put runs on the board."
Anna Tretton noted that regular-season victories against La Salle and increased familiarity with the venue have settled the roster.
"I think we just need to be confident," she said. "We need to know that we have the skill set to do it."
Madeline Dorgan expressed pride in the team's journey. "I'm just so proud of us, no matter what," she said.
"We play for our seniors, we play for each other."
