Michigan has once again proven its status as a top golf destination, with seven courses earning spots on Golfweek's 2026 ranking of the top 200 modern courses.
The list, released on June 1, includes courses opened since 1960 that received at least 25 votes from a panel of expert raters.

Michigan's Top Modern Courses
The highest-ranked Michigan course is Kingsley Club, located in Kingsley.
This private course opened in 2001, was designed by Mike DeVries, and earned an average rating of 7.61, placing it 39th overall.
Dunes Club in New Buffalo is a private course designed by Dick Nugent. Opened in 1995, it achieved an average rating of 7.39 and ranks T59.
Arcadia Bluffs (Bluffs) in Arcadia is a resort daily-fee course that opened in 1999.
Designed by Warren Henderson and Rick Smith, it holds an average rating of 7.21 and is ranked T91.
It is known as a long-reigning top public course.

Lost Dunes in Bridgman is a private course designed by Tom Doak. Opened in 1999, it has an average rating of 6.96 and ranks T132.
Marquette Golf Club (Greywalls) in Marquette is a daily-fee course that opened in 2005.
Designed by Mike DeVries, it earned an average rating of 6.95 and ranks T137.
Forest Dunes (The Loop Red & Black) in Roscommon is a unique reversible 18-hole resort daily-fee course designed by Tom Doak.
Opened in 2016, it holds an average rating of 6.94 and ranks T145.
Wuskowhan Players Club in West Olive is a private course designed by Rick Smith and Warren Henderson.
