Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen collapsed on the pitch during an international friendly against Ukraine on Sunday. The referee abandoned the match early as a result.
The incident occurred in Odense, where Eriksen received immediate medical attention. He later walked off the field under his own power.

The collapse raised immediate concern due to Eriksen's medical history. He suffered a cardiac arrest during a European Championship match in 2021.
Following that incident, Eriksen was fitted with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD). The device is designed to automatically reset his heart if necessary, allowing him to resume playing.
Medical Response and Condition
Denmark national team doctor Morten Boesen provided an update on Eriksen's condition.
He stated that Eriksen was briefly unconscious but regained consciousness very quickly and walked off the pitch by himself.
Boesen, who led the successful resuscitation efforts during Eriksen's 2021 collapse, confirmed that the implanted chest device functioned correctly during Sunday's emergency.

"The pacemaker responded as it should," Boesen said.
Eriksen will undergo further examinations at the hospital to determine the cause of the incident.
"We are in ongoing contact with him and the doctors at the hospital," Boesen added.
"But Christian is doing well, and he asked me to send his regards to all the players and tell them that he was okay," Boesen said.

Medical professionals at the hospital will continue conducting examinations on Eriksen to identify the precise cause of the sudden collapse.
