Toronto Tempo guard Brittney Sykes tied her career high with 38 points, powering her team to a 106-102 overtime victory against the Connecticut Sun on Wednesday night in Toronto.

The expansion franchise erased a 14-point third-quarter deficit to secure its seventh win in 12 games, according to Postmedia.

Sykes anchored the offense by drawing consistent defensive contact and converting all 13 of her free throw attempts during the matchup.

Toronto initially controlled the early minutes before Connecticut established an 11-point advantage by halftime.

The visiting Sun fell to a 2-13 record while playing without injured post players Brittney Griner and Aneesah Morrow.

Those absences forced Connecticut head coach Rachid Meziane to start forward Aaliyah Edwards out of position alongside center Olivia Nelson-Ododa.
