The Luxeed RX, a new electric SUV from Chery-owned brand Luxeed, has sparked controversy with its claim of being styled by a former Ferrari chief designer.
Ferrari's PR director in China publicly challenged the assertion, asking for the designer's name.

Luxeed, part of the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) with Huawei, unveiled the RX as a rival to Xiaomi's YU7.
The SUV's front end bears a strong resemblance to the Ferrari Purosangue, a design choice that often draws criticism from Maranello.
According to Carnewschina, Luxeed executive director Zhao Changjiang stated that the RX was penned by a recent hire described as a former Ferrari chief designer.
However, Ferrari's PR director in China took to social media to question this, pointing out that Ferrari has not lost its chief designer.
The RX measures 197.6 inches (5,020 mm) long, 79 inches (2,007 mm) wide, and 62.4 inches (1,585 mm) tall, with a 118.1-inch (3,000 mm) wheelbase.

Design highlights include sleek headlights, a splitter, a black grille, black rocker panels, bulging rear quarter panels, and a rear lip spoiler.
The taillights feature an intricate light bar.
Two versions will be available: a base model with a rear-mounted electric motor producing 372 hp, and a dual-motor version with a combined 586 hp and a top speed of 156 mph (251 km/h).
Battery packs come from CATL (base) or CALB (flagship), though capacities are not yet disclosed.
Options include yellow, red, or silver brake calipers and various wheel designs, including one with bright purple spokes.

The RX is positioned as a "Fashion Utility Vehicle" (FUV), aiming to capture attention in China's competitive EV market.
