England defender Tino Livramento is expected to miss the 2026 World Cup after sustaining a muscle injury during a training session on Sunday, just days before the team's opening match against Croatia in Dallas.

The Football Association has not officially confirmed the development, but reports from Telegraph Sport indicate the 23-year-old Newcastle United full-back suffered a hamstring or muscle issue that will sideline him for approximately six weeks.

England manager Thomas Tuchel faces an immediate selection adjustment and has up to 24 hours before Wednesday's 9 p.

m. UK time kickoff against Croatia to name a replacement.

Chelsea's Trevoh Chalobah is on the stand-by list.

Livramento had previously missed the final five weeks of the domestic season with a thigh injury.

His inclusion was a calculated risk for Tuchel, who selected the defender over Trent Alexander-Arnold due to his ability to play on both flanks.

The injury leaves England with full-backs Reece James, Nico O'Reilly, and Djed Spence, alongside versatile options Jarell Quansah and Dan Burn.

Spence is currently playing with a protective mask after a fractured jaw.

Arsenal winger Noni Madueke, tipped to start ahead of Bukayo Saka, addressed the media on Monday regarding lineup uncertainty under Tuchel's management style.
