Frances Tiafoe captured his first ATP 500 title by beating world No. 7 Taylor Fritz 6-4, 6-4 at the Terra Wortmann Open in Halle, Germany, on Sunday.

The victory is the fourth career ATP title for the 28-year-old American and his first tournament win since 2023.

Tiafoe did not face a single break point and finished the match in 66 minutes, securing his first win over Fritz in their last eight meetings.

With the win, Tiafoe became the first American to claim the singles crown in Halle and moved up to world No. 19 in the ATP rankings.

During the tournament, he defeated three top-10 players: world No. 10 Flavio Cobolli, No. 4 Felix Auger-Aliassime, as well as Sho Shimabukuro and Daniel Altmaier.

Outpouring of Support

Fellow tennis professionals celebrated Tiafoe's milestone on social media. Ben Shelton wrote, "First 500 title for my guy @bigfoe1998.

Work paying off… happy for you brother 🤞🏽."

Coco Gauff, Sloane Stephens, and Iva Jovic also joined in. Gauff commented, "congrats 🔥🔥🔥🔥," while Jovic added, "let’s GOOOO🏆."

Tiafoe's girlfriend, Ayan Broomfield, celebrated from the stands and posted, "everything hallelujah."

The post drew reactions from partners of other ATP players, including Eiza Gonzalez, Ivana Nedved, and Mia Savio.

Tennis legend Chris Evert wrote, "A big congratulations Frances!!! 💪👏👍."

During the trophy presentation, Fritz showed sportsmanship: "You played great today, man. Super happy for you.
