ESPN's Shams Charania reported that several teams have initiated contact to test Charlotte's willingness to move the young franchise cornerstone.

The market for Ball has quickly grown, with external organizations actively pursuing a deal.

Primary Suitors Emerge

Insiders Marc Stein and Jake Fischer identified the Minnesota Timberwolves and Toronto Raptors as the primary suitors for Ball.

Minnesota aims to pair Ball with Anthony Edwards to ease offensive duties, potentially offering a package that includes injured guard Donte DiVincenzo and draft capital.

Toronto has renewed discussions after initially expressing interest last summer. The Raptors are looking to upgrade their backcourt depth beyond Immanuel Quickley.

Ball is under contract for three more seasons, with scheduled earnings of $40.8 million next season, $43.6 million in 2027/28, and $46.4 million in 2028/29.

Last season, the point guard helped propel Charlotte to a Play-In tournament appearance, averaging 20.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 7.3 assists over 72 games.

The Hornets have not formally indicated a desire to trade Ball, but front office executive Jeff Peterson continues to listen to offers.
