Seven-time champion Serena Williams will mark her competitive return to Wimbledon on Centre Court during Tuesday evening's first-round match against Australia's Maya Joint, according to the All England Club's schedule released on Sunday.
The 44-year-old American icon received a wild-card entry for both singles and doubles events, the latter alongside her 46-year-old sister Venus Williams.

Her return follows an absence from the sport since the 2022 U. S.

Defending champion Iga Swiatek will open Centre Court action at 1:30 p. m.
local time against Taylor Townsend. A matchup between Taylor Fritz and Jack Draper will follow before Williams takes the court.

Williams last competed at the grass-court Grand Slam in 2022, suffering an opening-round defeat to Harmony Tan, who held a world ranking of 115th at the time.
The American tennis great later exited the professional circuit following a third-round loss to Ajla Tomljanovic at Flushing Meadows.
She characterized her departure using her own specific terminology during her announcement.
