NBA forward Mikal Bridges has expressed deep appreciation for the support he has received from basketball fans throughout his career, which has included stints with multiple franchises.

During a media appearance on June 28, 2026, Bridges reflected on his journey since entering the league in 2018 as the 10th overall pick by the Philadelphia 76ers, who immediately traded him to the Phoenix Suns.

Bridges recalled his initial reaction to the draft-night trade, saying he was upset and could not control his emotions.

He described being alone in his hotel room after everyone left, feeling frustrated about leaving his hometown.

Despite that difficult start, the forward now feels grateful for the fanbases he has encountered.

He noted that he can hardly step outside without being recognized, but he views it positively because the fans deserve the attention.

"It's been great," Bridges said.

"I don't think I can really step outside my home, walk up a block without a lot of fans, but it's cool because they deserve it."

He added that taking pictures and interacting with fans means a lot to both him and them.

Bridges helped lead the Suns to the NBA Finals during the 2020-2021 season, appearing in all 22 postseason games.
