The rapid valuation increases, with some chip firms tripling their share prices since January, provided a substantial boost to Asia Pacific equity markets.

South Korea's Kospi index experienced a dramatic 125% increase this year, marking its most robust first-half performance since 1990.
This upward momentum was heavily propelled by electronics titan Samsung, which saw its share price jump 183%, and SK Hynix, which recorded a staggering 310% ascent since the beginning of January.
Both manufacturers reported exponential demand increases as artificial intelligence firms aggressively competed for hardware components required to power their vast data centers.

Shares in Sandisk climbed 780% in 2026, marking a phenomenal 4,510% explosion over the preceding 12 months.
Concurrently, digital storage provider Western Digital secured a 240% gain, Micron advanced by 296%, and Seagate grew 226% just days before the conclusion of the first half of the year.

The rising expenditure required for memory chips forced consumer tech giant Apple to increase prices for its iPad and MacBook lineups.
Reports also indicate that Apple is seeking authorization from the Trump administration to source memory components from CXMT, a Chinese firm currently blacklisted by the Pentagon.
