Gray's Strong Start
Boston starter Sonny Gray delivered a dominant performance against his former team, carrying a no-hitter into the eighth inning.
Gray recorded nine strikeouts to reach his 2,000th career strikeout before Amed Rosario singled with one out in the eighth to end the no-hit bid.
The Yankees rallied in the ninth inning against Boston closer Aroldis Chapman, scoring two runs to tie the game at 2-2.
The comeback was aided by a throwing error from right fielder Wilyer Abreu, though Chapman recovered to strike out his final two batters.
With those strikeouts, Chapman tied Hoyt Wilhelm's all-time reliever record with 1,363 career strikeouts.

New York scored two more runs in the top of the 10th inning following another defensive miscue by Abreu.
Anthony Seigler led off the bottom of the 10th with an RBI single for Boston, followed by a double from pinch-hitter Masataka Yoshida.
A sacrifice fly by Tsung-Che Cheng tied the game before Duran drove a line drive into right field off Fernando Cruz to secure the win.
The defeat dropped the Yankees one game behind the Tampa Bay Rays atop the American League East standings.

Earlier, Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. was ejected in the sixth inning for arguing a called third strike on a check-swing.
