The body of a missing 19-year-old Ashland woman was recovered from Grayson Lake on Sunday afternoon, concluding a five-day search across Carter County.
Marly Kinney disappeared on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, after she failed to return from a rented pontoon boat trip with friends at the Grayson Lake Marina.

Authorities found her body at approximately 3:45 p. m.
, according to the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources.
The Carter County Coroner was notified and responded to the scene. The cause of death will be determined by the State Medical Examiner's Office in Frankfort.
Multi-Agency Search Effort
Game wardens led the search following a missing person report that indicated a female passenger did not return with a group of friends on a rented pontoon boat.

Search efforts focused on the water and shoreline with assistance from multiple agencies, including Kentucky State Police, Ashland Fire Department, Grayson Fire Department, and more than 50 local volunteers.
Resources included boats, divers, sonar, helicopters, drones, UTVs/ATVs, and K9 and cadaver dogs.
The case remains under investigation.
