Professional golfer Tommy Fleetwood has shared his perspective on the mental and analytical aspects of modern golf, emphasizing the role of preparation and data in achieving elite performance.

Speaking during a brand collaboration announcement on June 29, 2026, Fleetwood highlighted the partnership between watchmaker TAG Heuer and equipment manufacturer TaylorMade.

The collaboration introduces the Connected Calibre E5 x TaylorMade Edition smartwatch, which features automatic shot tracking and real-time performance measurements.

Fleetwood, an ambassador for both companies, expressed excitement about the technical engineering collaboration, noting that long-term personal relationships with the brands fueled his enthusiasm.

"They're two companies that I've been part of for quite a long time now, so they're both very close to me.

It just happens to be a very lucky collaboration, and fits so well for me because I've been a part of both," Fleetwood said.

Data and Preparation in Modern Golf

Fleetwood emphasized that minor performance shifts and statistics offer modern players the necessary framework to reach elite competitive standards.

"I think there's no detail too small or too big when you're trying to be the best you can be.

Everything you analyse, every detail you go into in practice or play, plays a role in putting you in the positions that you dream of," he said.

He added that while luck can play a part, preparation creates opportunities. "You have to be there in order to find it.

When you see those special moments, those winning moments, there's so much detail that has gone into them."
