The Seattle Kraken have extended qualifying offers to four pending restricted free agents, securing their first-refusal rights ahead of the NHL deadline.

The offers were made to forwards Jacob Melanson and Mackie Samoskevich, defenseman Ville Ottavainen, and goaltender Victor Ostman, according to a team announcement on Monday, June 29, 2026.

The moves came before the league's 5 p. m.

ET deadline, protecting the franchise from losing players to other clubs without compensation.

Melanson recorded five points in 36 games with Seattle last season. Samoskevich joined the Kraken via a trade with the Florida Panthers on June 21, 2026.

Ostman played one game for Seattle last season, making 35 saves. Ottavainen spent most of the season with the Coachella Valley Firebirds, appearing in 53 games.

In addition to roster updates, the organization expanded its ownership group. Melinda French Gates has joined One Roof Sports & Entertainment as a minority investor.
