Chicago police are searching for a man who attempted to lure a 13-year-old girl in Portage Park on Tuesday morning, June 30, 2026.
The incident occurred between 8:30 a. m.

and 8:45 a. m.
in the 4100 block of North Central Avenue on the city's Northwest Side, according to authorities.
The teenager was walking southeast through the park near West Berteau and North Central avenues when she noticed a man walking northeast with a gray or black dog.
The man repeatedly tried to call the girl over after getting her attention, police said.

The teen immediately ran into a nearby building and alerted park officials, prompting the suspect to flee in an unknown direction.
Suspect Description
Police described the suspect as a white man between 50 and 60 years old, standing about 5 feet, 8 inches tall with a gray goatee.
He was last seen wearing an oversized tan or brown T-shirt and long tan or brown shorts while accompanied by the dog.
