England manager Thomas Tuchel has omitted high-profile stars Cole Palmer, Phil Foden, and Harry Maguire from his 2026 World Cup roster ahead of the team's opening knockout stage match on Wednesday, July 1.
The Three Lions are scheduled to face DR Congo in the Round of 32 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

According to reports, Palmer paid the price for a dip in his club form with Chelsea and a wealth of competing options in attacking midfield, such as Jude Bellingham, Morgan Rogers, and Eberechi Eze.
Foden was left out following several disappointing pre-tournament friendly performances.
Maguire was dropped as Tuchel opted for a complete tactical refresh in defense, prioritizing system suitability over domestic reputation.
Tuchel Emphasizes Team Cohesion
Tuchel addressed his roster selection strategy during his official announcement, emphasizing that his priority was cohesion rather than individual names.
"From day one we were clear we were trying to build the best possible team, which is not necessarily the 26 most talented players," explained Tuchel.
The German head coach noted that tournament success requires unselfishness and players who are committed to a collective identity.
"Teams win championships, and what we're trying to achieve can only be achieved as a team," continued Tuchel.
