Four children in China used a Ferrari 488 GTB worth $530,000 as a playground, causing deep scratches and a cracked front bumper.

Their parents refused to cover the full repair costs, leading to a lawsuit.

The incident occurred in Kunming, Yunnan province, southwestern China. The children, reportedly under 10 years old, spotted the red supercar parked outdoors and climbed on it.

CCTV footage shows the boys climbing onto the mid-engined Ferrari, resting on the windshield, moving to the roof, and sliding down the rear glass.

They also touched the bodywork with long bamboo poles.

When the owner returned from a business trip, he found deep scratches across the hood, roof, fenders, taillights, and windows, along with a cracked front bumper.

The owner initially tried to handle the situation leniently.

Instead of taking the car to a Ferrari dealer, where repairs would cost over ¥100,000 ($14,700), he visited local bodyshops and fixed the paint for ¥29,360 ($4,300).

He took the receipts to the police station and met with the parents.

According to the South China Morning Post, the parents only offered ¥5,000 ($730) and did not bring their children to apologize.

The owner then withdrew from negotiations and filed a civil lawsuit seeking the full repair amount.

Under Chinese law, children under 14 are exempt from administrative detention, leaving civil court as the only route for property owners to seek accountability from legal guardians.

The Ferrari 488 GTB is valued at about ¥3.6 million ($530,000) in China.
