Singapore authorities seized a S$55 million luxury mansion on Wednesday, July 2, 2026, following allegations that it was funded through an illegal trade network smuggling advanced Nvidia artificial intelligence chips.

The property, located near Singapore's Botanic Gardens, was allegedly purchased using criminal proceeds.

Law enforcement officials revealed that illicit earnings covered at least two-thirds of the total transaction value.

Police investigators uncovered the transaction during a broader probe into the unauthorized distribution of specialized servers.

These hardware units house highly regulated Nvidia chips, which remain under strict United States export regulations.

Money Laundering Charges Filed

Wei Zhaolun, chief executive officer of tech hardware supplier Aperia Group, faces money laundering charges for allegedly funneling S$38 million of illicit funds into the property.

Law enforcement also froze approximately S$1 million across related bank accounts.

Three suppliers—Dell, Super Micro Computer, and Asus—provided the servers under false pretenses to four individuals accused of fraud since February 2025.

Corporate entities including Luxuriate Your Life and three Aperia Group subsidiaries also face prosecution.

The law enforcement agency issued a statement reinforcing its stance against the misuse of the local financial system for illicit international trade.

The police asserted a "zero-tolerance stance towards such offences" and vowed to act against anyone violating Singapore's laws to protect the country's integrity as a trusted global business hub.

The enforcement actions align with ongoing efforts by the United States and Singapore to disrupt parallel trade routes for restricted technologies.
