Prince Harry is reconsidering whether to bring his family to the UK next week after the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (RAVEC) denied full-time police protection for their visit.

The Duke of Sussex had planned to travel with Meghan Markle, Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet on July 7, 2026, for engagements supporting the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.

Security Risks and Threats

A sensitive security report commissioned by Harry's private firm revealed that the duke faces elevated risks in the UK, including six specific terrorist plots.

The confidential assessment noted that the Metropolitan Police are aware of nearly 500 potential stalkers targeting the royal family, with half focusing on the Sussexes.

His private security team argued that local authorities are better equipped to provide protection because private guards cannot carry lethal weapons on British soil.

According to bbc. co.

uk, the duke's representatives said the current security measures offered by British officials do not match the actual threats faced by the family.

"The Duke continues to explore every available option to enable the visit to proceed safely and to give his children the opportunity to enjoy the UK," said a spokesman for Prince Harry.

The representative emphasized that providing a secure royal residence address does not mitigate the risks associated with traveling to public venues.

"Prince Harry's programme in the United Kingdom includes both public and private engagements across the country," the spokesman added.
