Belgian national team players Leandro Trossard and Youri Tielemans resolved a heated on-field altercation on Thursday after combining to secure a 2-2 equalizer against Senegal during the World Cup round of 16 match.

The dispute erupted in the 70th minute when Belgium trailed 0-2, sparked by Tielemans choosing a poor cross over passing to Trossard.

The confrontation escalated into shouting and pushing, requiring teammates Romelu Lukaku and Nicolas Raskin to separate the two players.

Commentator Filip Joos reflected on the bleak outlook for the national team during the broadcast of the intense moment.

"De aanvoerder en de nummer 10 met elkaar in de clinch. Vergeet het nu maar allemaal," said Filip Joos, commentator.

"Dit is de grafsteen op onze wereldbeker."

The tension subsided fifteen minutes later when Tielemans headed home the equalizing goal from a Trossard assist, celebrating the moment with a close embrace.

Following the match, Tielemans dismissed the severity of the argument and emphasized their shared competitive drive.

"Die ruzie? Ach, dat zijn de emoties van het moment," said Youri Tielemans, Captain.

"We zijn allemaal winnaars en we willen ons land goed vertegenwoordigen. Er was niks aan de hand."

Trossard echoed the sentiment, noting that the disagreement was brief and ultimately productive given the final result.

"Er was even een klein opstootje, maar het was ook snel voorbij," said Leandro Trossard, Midfielder.
