Paul Gadd, the 82-year-old former pop singer known as Gary Glitter, is scheduled to appear in a London court in August 2026 over new charges of historical sexual abuse.

The defendant will face Westminster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, following a Metropolitan Police investigation into incidents alleged to have occurred decades ago.

The Crown Prosecution Service authorized charges after reviewing evidence submitted by law enforcement.

Gadd faces one count of unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under 13 and three counts of indecent assault on a girl under 14.

Bethan David, Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor in CPS London, stated that the charges relate to allegations made by a woman concerning abuse between 1978 and 1981.

“Our prosecutors have worked to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring this case to court and that it is in the public interest to do so,” David said.

The alleged offenses took place at a private residence in the Kensington area.

Police first received the complaint on January 9, 2025, and interviewed Gadd on July 22, 2025.

David reminded the public that proceedings are active and the defendant has the right to a fair trial.

“It is vital that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings,” she said.
