Cable network Starz has acquired the U. S.
broadcast and international distribution rights for "S. W.

Exiles," a 10-episode spinoff of the recently canceled CBS drama.
The series is set to premiere on September 25.
Sony Pictures Television produced the project independently with CBS Studios before finalizing the deal with Starz, according to Deadline.
Filming began in Los Angeles in October 2025 and wrapped in late winter 2026.
Plot and Cast
The story follows Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson, who comes out of forced retirement to lead an experimental squad of untrained young recruits after a failed high-profile assignment.
Main cast members Shemar Moore, Patrick St. Esprit, Jay Harrington, and David Lim reprise their roles.
New series regulars include Lucy Barrett, Adain Bradley, Zyra Gorecki, Freddy Miyares, and Ronen Rubinstein.

He thanked Sony Pictures Television for believing in the franchise and noted that distribution covers major international territories including Europe, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa.
"Fans everywhere will get to experience this epic new ride together," Moore added.
Starz President Alison Hoffman said the spinoff engages a passionate fanbase that aligns with the network's audience.
"We're thrilled to join forces with Sony to be the first place U. S.
fans can experience this thrilling new chapter," Hoffman stated.
Showrunner Jason Ning explained that the series maintains the original's epic action and adrenaline but pushes into more personal territory.

"Pairing a battle-tested leader like Hondo with a generation that challenges him at every turn creates real friction, and real evolution," Ning said.
