The multi-purpose pavilion is located on the couple's 1930s Spanish Revival property in the hills above West Hollywood.

It was transformed from an outdated structure into a vibrant family playground, performance space, home office, and custom gym.

The project initially began as a simple upgrade to the laundry room.

It expanded into a full structural overhaul that raised ceilings and added historical architectural details like arched doorways.

A Family-Friendly Transformation

Emilie Goldblum, a professional aerialist and former Olympic rhythmic gymnast, recalled her first gym encounter with her husband in 2011.

The couple married in 2014 and share the property with their two sons, Charlie Ocean and River Joe.

Architect Barbara Bestor described the original style as "1983 janky." She aimed to harmonize the pavilion with the property's main residence through retroactive historicization.

The ground floor now features an open social space with a Steinway & Sons grand piano. This supports Goldblum's musical endeavors with his band, the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra.

Structural changes also accommodated a highly customized, pink-accented second-floor fitness studio. Emilie records athletic content there.

Bestor noted the playful personalities of Jeff and Emilie, along with their children. "It all had to be fun and relaxed," she said.
