Formula 3 drivers faced intense heat and shifting wind conditions during the qualifying session at the Silverstone Circuit on July 3, 2026.
The changing track environment forced the grid to continuously re-evaluate their driving references before Sunday's race.

Slater Secures Home Pole
Trident rookie Freddie Slater secured the top spot despite high temperatures and gusts that made car handling unpredictable compared to the morning practice session.
"It feels good. Actually to get it here at Silverstone a home race for me.
I only live 50, 45 minutes from here. So it’s very, very special to finally get that pole position," Slater said.
The British driver explained that track conditions shifted dramatically after other racing series concluded their sessions earlier in the afternoon.
"The trackers had F1 on track, F2, then the wind was a lot different, much hotter, completely changed all the variables," he added.
Slater noted that maintaining pace required driving right at the absolute limit of available tire grip throughout the lap.
"I knew it was very important to maximise the job in every corner and then just try and string out everything I could and be on the limit of the tyre grip," he said.
The home driver expressed gratitude for the local support he experienced over the competitive weekend.
"The support I've had this weekend is incredible. There's been so much shouting, cheering for me," Slater said.
