The victory allowed championship leader Antonelli to extend his advantage over teammate Russell from 40 to 43 points.

Hamilton now trails the championship leader by 47 points.

Norris briefly advanced to second place after gaining three positions on the opening lap. Antonelli reclaimed the spot at Stowe before chasing down Hamilton's Ferrari.

Hamilton defended his lead through Copse on lap eight, but Antonelli used the Hangar Straight to pass the seven-time world champion before entering the Stowe corner.
