Fritz advanced after a straight-sets win over Patrick Kypson, 6-2, 6-2, 7-5. The American reached the semifinals at the All England Club last year.

He has won 82.5 percent of his first serves in his opening two matches. Fritz has dropped only nine service games across 11 grass-court matches this season.
At Wimbledon, he has allowed just one service break and faced only two breakpoints through six sets. Meanwhile, he created 29 breakpoints and converted 10.
Sonego reached the third round by defeating Gabriel Diallo in a five-set thriller, 7-6, 4-6, 7-6, 6-7, 6-2.
The Italian now has a 4-3 grass-court record in 2026.

He is aiming to reach the Wimbledon fourth round for the second consecutive year.

Fritz leads Sonego 7-2 in their career meetings. This includes two previous grass-court victories, both in 2018 at Queen's and Wimbledon.
Sonego enters the match converting 36.1 percent of breakpoints on grass this year.
